Entrepreneurs are a lot like storytellers, so I’ve been told. Lately, I’ve found myself being called an entrepreneur (besides the fact that it’s my major…hehe), so I’m taking that as me being a storyteller too. We’ll go with that for now, anyways.
Owning a business really is a lot like writing a story — first, ideas swirl around like dreams and the sky’s the limit. But then, it’s like hanging ten at the deep end of a swimming pool. You want to jump, but you don’t know what’s under the water. With a crazy leap of faith you jump, and the first words get scribbled onto pages. Next, the editing process happens and the Lord cuts off those parts that don’t bear fruit. (Shoutout to John 15*). That’s the hardest part. Trust me, I’ve been there many times, but it’s a very very good thing in the end. And finally, after grace upon grace, boom. The story is finally taking shape! But it’s never quite finished when it comes to the story of a company—there’s always room for improvement and growth. And THAT my friends is the beauty of owning a business. As an entrepreneur, the story is never written in stone. The opportunities are endless. It’s freedom, and it’s awesome.
Words come together to make a story much like the drawings I create. First come the ideas (even at random times like in the middle of the night or while I’m driving)! Then the rest of the creation journey sets sail right down to final product production. Each drawing has its very own story written within the greater story of my company.
The roots underneath every good business owner stems a story, and it’s our calling to share it with others. My mission is to share my work to serve the kingdom and glorify the One who gave me these gifts. So naturally, I should also share my story with you. Ever since I was a little girl, not only did I draw pictures for greeting cards, but I wrote my own stories and illustrated them too. In elementary school, I wanted to be an artist, author, and teacher when I grew up. So starting a blog is a lot like fulfilling the ultimate childhood dream for me! Drawing and writing have always been my creative outlet and happy place.

*The Vine and the Branches – John 15:1-4
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
