Saturdays in Birmingham are the BEST! Now that it’s summer break, I’m soaking in every sweet Saturday as much as possible. This morning was well-spent downtown at some of my favorite little spots in the heart of the city.
First stop: Pepper Place farmer’s market. From locally grown produce & flowers to food trucks & handmade gifts, Pepper Place is my go-to Saturday morning place. They had blackberries today, people!!
Piper & Leaf, the best homemade tea company south of the Mason Dixon, is one of my favorite vendors there. Local businesses are the heartbeat of Birmingham, & I love how much the community rallies around these companies. (Ashley Ink & Paperie included–we are so blessed by this special place!)
Next stop: Feast & Forest. Brunch is my soul food, & Feast & Forrest never disappoints. Get the avocado biscuit — just do it.
Adventuring downtown brings me back to my word for this summer & upcoming junior year:: PIONEER. Downtown is growing and evolving through an amazing revival. New businesses are thriving, & as a business owner, I get giddy when I see this happening all around me! Inspiration is everywhere & its joy is contagious. Birmingham dwellers too are pioneers–forging on with a growing city as our home. What a gift it is to grow alongside our home place. (read more about my word, pioneer HERE!)
