Consider the work of God, for who is able to straighten what He has bent? -Ecclesiastes 7:13
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope & cheer. -Psalm 94:19
God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before Him. -Psalm 18:20
…for such a time as this. -Esther 4:14
Over the summer, I made a tough business decision to pull back on creating a new Ashley Ink & Paperie calendar for 2018. I was stuck on the endless wheel of striving and found myself in dyer need to get off. Fast. I thought taking time off to create new work for future ventures was the right answer, and I was (quite honestly) worn out from the pressure from selling time-sensitive inventory.
More than anything, I needed rest and revival. Pioneer has been my word for this year (Hebrews 12:12), and I’ve learned a lot in the past few months about resting along the journey. Friends, it’s amazing what even the tiniest bit of rest can do—lemme tell ya! I couldn’t keep going if I didn’t pause to rest. It’s something I’m still working on today. In resting I realized I still very much wanted to create a calendar for the upcoming year. I realized my customers wanted one even more than I did, too!
These four verses above made me re-evaluate my current season as a full-time college gal and business owner. I truly believe the Lord gives us gifts of doing certain things well—that He bends us towards passions that we absolutely cannot deny—things that make us jump out of bed in the morning and stay awake thinking about at night. For me, Ashley Ink & Paperie is a channel through which I’m blessed to use the gifts God has given me to shout His name from every rooftop. It’s my creating calling to live bent, and to live it well. Though I’m not sure how it will evolve in the future, I know it’s a calling I cannot postpone to pursue after I graduate. It’s here and it’s now.
Even when doubts fill my mind—and there are plenty—all of them are irrelevant when put up against God’s comfort. It’s a comfort that gives me renewed hope and cheer, no, pure JOY for the future. It frees me from the wheel of striving—reminding me that I live to serve a party of One. He’s calling me to places I can’t go alone, and that’s better than okay because He’s leading me step by step in His plan. He makes my life complete when I place every piece before Him. Life as a business-owner-college-gal has a LOT of moving pieces, but the comfort of giving them all over to the Lord is immeasurable. In every season, He is faithful.
He created me for such a time as this, and He created you, too. Esther 4:14 has been the guiding verse in creating Seasons of Faith 2018 calendar. It’s the anchor verse on the calendar cover, and it beautifully illustrates that God is with us through every season—that He brings us to every season for a purpose. To be honest, this calendar came together faster than any product I’ve released (ever), which is funny because it wasn’t part of the plan to begin with. It gives me goosies and makes my heart so full to see the Lord’s hand moving through it. This calendar serves as a tangible reminder that His plan is oh so much greater than my own. I’m overwhelmed with excitement to share it with you!!
So are you ready? Do you wanna see it?! Our fourth (FOURTH!!) annual Seasons of Faith calendar is live on the Etsy shop now! And I might be a little biased, but I think it’s the best one we’ve had yet. 🙂
